Many "cross-identifications" between MSX and 2MASSI sources, and with the Simbad content are wrong. Many 2MASSI found in their search radius are not the counterpart of the MIR source MSX (see e.g. MSX LMC 477 or MSX LMC 320); a MIR source cannot be cross-identified with a star cluster; etc... It has unfortunately being processed in Simbad in 2003 trusting their cross-identifications. Corrections are done lately by the CDS team, but are very time consuming.
