This is a discretionary time proposal to try observe three of the
highest rotational lines, 0-0 S(24), S(25), and S(29), in Orion IRc2
Peak 1 with the SWS AOT02. In our AOT01 full grating scan of this
object we have detected over 80 H2 lines, including a 2 sigma (0.18 Jy)
detection of 0-0S(25), which appears to be five times stronger than
expected from the degree of excitation of the lower energy lines. We
like to reobserve this line to see if the highest levels (J>25) may be
populated by a distinct mechanism, e.g., through H2 gas phase
formation. If confirmed, we like to also observe S(24) and the
highest H2 rotational line S(29).
