We propose to take near IR spectroscopy of a selected sample of sources from the Two Micron Galactic Survey (TMGS) catalogue which are located in the central inner bulge of the Milky Way. The aim of this proposal is to investigate what is the dominant stellar population in this region. By means of the TMGS catalogue we have selected a list of highly luminous near-IR objects, previously undetected, which are strong candidates to be situated in the inner bulge of the Galactic Centre, and whose spectral type and luminosity class determination form the primary objective of this proposal.
