 We wish to explore the detailed interactions among
 magnetic fields, cosmic rays and dust on
 scales of single GMC complexes in the Sw arms of M31.
 An analysis of dust properties and the dust/gas correlations
 will be performed.
 The FIR/radio correlation will be analyzed focusing on the
 influence of interstellar magnetic fields.
 A direct observation of polarized FIR radiation from dust
 will be made in order to a) compare the polarization angles of
 dust with those of radio synchroton emission;
 b) obtain an empirical relation between
 field strength and the degree of dust polarization empirically;
 c) to look for evidence for ferromagnetic grains
 in the interstellar dust.
