==> In this proposal, more time is being requested for WKEGEL.OH_MEGA

In the frame of our project OH_MEGA we observed IRAS 20100-4156
with LWS02. This source is the second most luminous OH megamaser
known. In our data we tentatively detected the 115 micron line of
OH in emission, indicating that we may have discovered an
OH IRaser.(Theoretical calculations predicted this line to be
inverted. This is why we observed it.) In addition we observed the
53 micron line, which rather clearly shows up in absorption (as
predicted), and the 119 micron line, which we tentatively detected as an
absorption line. If the detection and identification of the 115 micron line
is correct this would imply that IRAS 20100-4156 emits in
this line about 10^7 solar luminosities, which would be a most
interesting result. - However, the data
are extremely noisy so that we are not sure about the detection.
We therefore would like to apply for discretionary time in
order to reobserve the 115 micron line.
