The objective of this supplementary discretionary time proposal is to perform ISOCAM CVF spectro-imaging of (most of) the field in the M16 "Eagle nebula" which we earlier mapped in LW2 and LW3. The goal is to establish the physical nature of the emission, including in a mysterious extended feature discovered in our LW3 image located near (but outside the extent of) the main "elephant trunk" in the "Hubble field" in M16.
